During the year 2014 Sales Tax Wing have detected 238 number of tax evasion cases and collected Rs 1364.33 lakhs from spot assessment. Vigilance Sales Tax wing has detected huge tax evasion by the corporate houses, big industries, sponge Iron factories etc. They also unravelled fake business offices and illegality in way bill transaction. They have also detected suppression of gross turnover of Rs.1158.08 Crores (till November, 2014) which may have generated revenue of Rs.219.35 Crores (till November, 2014) after disposal. A Special Investigation Team has been formed under the order of Hon’ble High Court, headed by I.G. of Police, Vigilance and Sales Tax officers to investigate tax evasion cases.
